Being in a rock band can feel like a blur of sweaty solos, mosh-pits, and burritos; but our goal has always been clear: to make art that speaks to people. The songs we create are stories that help to navigate this chaotic modern world. We feel that if our music truly connects with people, we can build a strong community of tolerance and healing. Excuse Me’s contemporary sound is the result of our five distinct musical backgrounds. When we write songs, we constantly draw upon our past experiences to bring unique stories to life. WSJS Ep. 36 - romancer
Six years in, and with a self-released full length record and a more recent EP, this Waterloo four-piece leave us certain of one thing: Romancer know how to create a moment. Whether it be a crowd pleasing melodic tantrum of intricate guitar work and pounding percussion, or a euphoric slow burn towards the mother-of-all punk rock crescendos, this band delivers. It's no question why they've been solicited to open for established live bands like Counterparts and Free Throw, as well as a successful tour south of the Canadian border. Recently, Romancer have been consistently honing their craft, writing new songs and have released a live session to showcase their hard work. They are gearing up for a massive 2019. WSJS Ep. 34 - PLANTS
PLANTS is a alternative hard rock band from Stratford, Ontario. Formed in 2014, vocalist/guitarist Sam Love, guitarist Brad Zoeller, bassist Max Santandrea, and drummer Ethan McCarroll began as a cover band, covering their favourite pop-rock hits from the 90's, and energetic, riff driven rock songs, playing to crowds at the local Stratford Legion. After gaining a steady following of fans over three years and being driven out of each other's houses for practice time, PLANTS looks onward to blending their creative minds together to create unique original music. With a writing process that involves all four members, each member is able to incorporate their influences within PLANTS original music.
