The mid 2000’s were an interesting time for a young Caleb. I fell in love with Pro Wrestling & Butt Rock. Overtime I got my head on straight & found some better music to listen to. However the Charles Dickens -esque story telling of Chad Kroger or the Shakespere like love songs of Theory of Deadman had embedded themselves into my memory banks. Now look, obviously this type of Rock music is ridiculous but as I grow older, I have started to have an appreciation for the silly things life has to offer. I mentioned my love of Pro Wrestling earlier & I still love it today. Part of that joy I find is in it’s silliness. I have had this playlist we’ve made on a little bit over the last week & it’s fun. But I do need a break after about 5 songs. The whole point of celebrating Butt Rock on this podcast is because at the end of the day, these songs all rip. They’re fun & it’s fun to sing a long with the absolute asinine lyrics of Crazy B*tch or stick your jaw out for Cumbersome. Embrace the silliness in life, we aren’t here long enough to be cool.

How Many Podcasts is Too Many?
I have more time on my hands these days & I feel that I have lost my drive to be creative. I don’t how “creative” another music podcast is however since Spotify announced that it was supporting adding music into your shows I wanted to be involved. The reason I didn’t jump on board for We Should Jam Sometime is because it makes the show exclusive to Spotify. I then turned to making playlists for every episode, but to be honest I wasn’t into it. So, Listen to This Sh*t is officially a companion podcast to We Should Jam Sometime.

Let’s Have a little humility
This week we played the video of Gospel Singer Bobbi Storm celebrating her double Grammy Nom’s by telling a plane full of people & then preceding to serenade them. Until a flight attendant who clearly doesn’t moonlight on the Grammy selection committee had, had enough. When I tell you my whole body shrivelled up when she asked the plane if they were enjoying it & there was SILENCE! Then Bobbi had to sit through a whole plane ride with these people. I do have a feeling though that she felt no shame. Bobbi later made a video saying that Delta called her to apologize for the crew member’s actions. I don’t buy it though. Not a soul, living or dead would argue this guy was in the wrong. Nobody wants to be on a plane, it’s stressful enough without somebody trying to be the star of the show. I don’t fault Bobbi Storm for being excited, she absolutely should be, but you know… shut up, you’re in public.
